Good Morning Nighthawks!

Today is the last day to purchase Prom Tickets on SchoolCash online.
Those students who have not yet purchased their school I.D. will need to purchase them before Prom tickets can be picked up! If you have not purchased a student I.D., you will not receive your prom ticket.
Also, guest forms must be completed, submitted to the office and approved before guest tickets are picked up.
This week, many of our OSS musicians travelled to Niagara Falls for Musicfest Nationals where they participated in this national festival alongside students from across the country. Each ensemble performed the repertoire they had prepared, receiving feedback from several renowned adjudicators, and participating in a clinic following their performance. Our OSS ensembles performed very well with the Senior Concert Band earning a Silver award and the Dixieland Ensemble earning a Gold award. Mrs. Matthie and Ms. Christie are extremely proud of these students, not only for their musical achievements, but for conducting themselves responsibly and respectfully for the duration of the trip. You represented your school very well. Congratulations to each one of you!
The Baseball team continued its winning ways with a clutch 4-3 win in extra innings against Nottawasaga Pines yesterday. The hot pitching continued, neutralizing the opposition bats along with some timely hitting from the Nighthawks. The regular season has all been decided, and the squad has qualified for the SCAA quarterfinals next week.
Go Hawks!!
Today is the Day! Dodge ball is happening at lunch. Bring a friend, have some fun, and release some anger. Everyone is welcome, see you at 10:45 in the gym.
This past school year, all grade 10 Civics students at OSS have participated in the YPI or Youth Philanthropy Initiative program. This is an opportunity for students to research a local social service charity, create a presentation, and then share what they have learned with the rest of their class. The strongest presentations are then invited to compete against each other for the chance to have a $5000 grant awarded to the charity of the winning group.
The YPI final this year will take place today immediately after lunch. All grade 10 classes are asked to come to the cafeteria to cheer on the four finalists and learn more about local charities and being an active citizen in the community.
Students who have signed up for the performing arts trip to see Hamilton the musical and the workshop are reminded that the trip takes place NEXT WEEK ON WEDNESDAY
bus departs at 1pm and return very late at midnight
Ensure you dress for the weather, bring snacks and $$ for dinner
See Mrs. Matthie is you have questions.
