On Friday, the girls slo pitch team took on the number one seeded Eastview Wildcats in the SCAA semi finals. After falling behind 7-4, the Nighthawks battled back to tie with great defence featuring Ava E. with a crucial putout at home on a laser throw from Victoria S. and Amber L. with a hard tag at second to prevent a run, ending regulation. In extra innings, Victoria S. tripled home A. Lashbrook and then scored on a Hayden M. single and Raygen H. struck out Eastview's clean up hitter to seal a 9-7 win.
The finals against a hard hitting Bear Creek team turned into an intense slugfest with Daisy M. scoring 4 times, Hayden M. driving in 4 runs and all around great hitting from Hayley B., Addi K. with 3 RBI's and Makayla H. Raygen H.shut the door for the last two innings and added a lead off home run to help the Nighthawks secure an 18-12 win and the SCAA championship. The girls play St. Peter's today for the GBSSA championship.
Attention all OSS athletes. The Athletic Banquet is taking place on Tuesday June 11th from 5:30-7:00pm in our cafeteria. Tickets are just $5.00 for those who have purchased their student card.
