The Girls Basketball team travelled to Innisdale yesterday got their first league victory. The Nighthawks displayed great team defence and owned the boards against the stunned home side of Innisdale.

The Hawks had some excellent three point shooting and made tons of transition layups to defeat their opponents by a score of 56-27. Their league record now sits at 1 win and 1 loss. Next action in Collingwood on Wednesday.

Meen-oh Gih-shep, OSS, good morning.

Next Monday, September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day to recognize that “Every Child Matters.”  It is also Orange Shirt Day, which we can all wear to show our support.

Phyllis Webstad inspired Orange Shirt Day when she shared her residential school story about how her new orange shirt was taken away from her on her first day of school.  Phyllis believed her feelings didn’t matter and that she felt worthless.

Our school is acknowledging this day by holding a sacred fire outside during Period 2 next Monday.  By coming together, we can show our unity to all move forward in a good way.

You can sign up to attend this gathering in the front office or in Andaayang.  Meeg-wetch.

Today is Book Club day! If you grabbed a copy of Ender's game, come on out to chat about your thoughts on the novel so far. If you didn't make it out, come to room 311 anyway to listen in on the conversation and give input to our next read. Either way, 311 is the place to be at lunch.
