Yesterday, our Jr. Girls Basketball team soared into Nottawasaga Pines and lit up the court! With relentless defense and pinpoint shooting from the outside, the girls took an early lead and never looked back. Their fearless drives to the net and unstoppable energy made this a game to remember.
But the action doesn’t stop there—this Friday, the squad heads to Orillia’s Blackball Tournament, and you won’t want to miss it. Come cheer loud, wear your colors, and witness the fire these girls bring to the OSS gym.
Come join us as we build community, celebrate Black culture, and create a safe space to share ideas and experiences.
If you’re interested in learning more, getting involved, or just connecting with new people, this is the place for you.
Our first meet is today, in room 304, at the beginning of lunch.
Everyone is welcomed!

The Senior Girls Hoopers continued their winning ways with a victory over Nouvelle Alliance by a score of 45 to 23. The squad pressed their way into an early lead and never lost the lead throughout the game. The Nighthawks used transition to find some easy buckets and built up their lead in the second half. The squad also hit a handful of threes to cement the victory. The girls sit undefeated in the league and are tied for first in Tier 1. Next action is tomorrow in the Orillia Blackball Classic.

On Tuesday the Jr. Girls Flag football team played their 4th league game against Bradford. The offence got off to a fast start and scored an early touchdown on a hand off to Catelyn H. The defense shut down Bradford's attack in the first half capped off by a nice interception from Hannah W.
In the second half with holding a slim 7-0 lead the Bradford QB somehow slipped through the defence for a 60 yard run that was stopped 5 yards short of the goal thanks to a huge diving effort by Carrera B. The defence then shut of Bradford with a huge goalline stand. On the ensuing offencive possession Cabot F. made a great catch and run to earn a huge first down. Then Catelyn H. took a 5 yard pass 80 yards straight to the endzone to put Bradford on ice.
Final score - Orillia 20 - Bradford - 0
