The Ultimate Frisbee Nighthawks travelled to Twin Lakes yesterday for a must‑win playoff matchup against Bradford. The team came out strong in the gusty winds, making smart plays and showing impressive composure to secure 8th place in the standings. Their united play, structured offense, and commitment to getting everyone involved were clear throughout the game. The group demonstrated outstanding spirit and teamwork from start to finish.
Next up: the Nighthawks head to Barrie on Wednesday for the SCAA Finals.
A reminder there is relay 4x100 practice today at lunch and regular practice tonight for all athletes
Yesterday, the girls slo pitch team opened their season with a tournament in Barrie. After disposing of St. Joe's in the first round, the girls had to battle back to send the round 2 match against Notawassaga Pines to send the game to extra innings where Maya N. slugged a double to win the game. In game 3 the bats were flying and the dreaded mercy rule was enforced against Twin Lakes setting up a gold medal match with OFSAA bronze medalists, St. Peters. After falling behind early, the girls battled back and rallied in the last inning but came up a bit short losing 14-13. Everyone contributed something on the day with home runs from Emersyn M., Hollie T. and Molly B. and Addi K. tallying 11 RBIs on the day. Pitchers Makayla H. and Paige B. were stellar all day.
