GRADE 12 ASSEMBLY WILL TAKE PLACE NEAR THE END OF PERIOD 2

Yesterday the OSS wrestling team competed at the GBSSA finals. Great performances by all athletes got 6 out of 11 qualifying for OFSAA . Graydon A. and Canyon F. had tough days and both fought well to silver medals. Also qualifying were Sydney W., Ryan P., Kartik C. and Sam St.L. Good luck at OFSAA.

The girls hockey team season came to an end yesterday with a 2-0 loss to Barrie North. They withstood an unrelenting attack and kept them off the scoreboard for almost 2 periods before one finally broke through. Great season girls. See you next year!

The Coldest night of the year walk and fundraiser is fast approaching! Join the Oss team to support the Lighthouse shelter. The Oss team will walk together on Saturday the 25th at Twin Lakes. Join the team through the coldest night of the year website and start donating!

Yesterday 12 nighthawk alpine ski members travelled to Osler ski club to complete at GBs in a field of 170 racers. In the highly competitive level 2 boys division, Sam A. finished 6th and Charlie C. was 16th. In the level 1 boys Aidan M. finished 10th, Carter S. 52nd and Jonathan S. 54th. In the women’s level 1 division the team saw 5 of nighthawk racers finish if the top 30 after the first run. The team was able to put together an amazing 2nd run which led to a 2nd place finish as a combined team! This qualifies them for a spot at OFSAA. Congrats to Rachel C., Hilary C., Alaina V. Helena M. Emilia Z., Sadie M. and Charlotte G.. Great job on an amazing ski season. Good luck to the team representing OSS at OFSAA.

The student for change committee would like to inform you that they will be selling scarves in the front foyer during lunch. The scarves cost 10 dollars and all the money will be sent to the lighthouse.

Attention any junior or senior boys interested in playing rugby this spring. There will be a meeting in room 125 at the beginning of lunch today. See Mr. Loney in the phys Ed office if you cannot attend.

Attention all Junior Concert Band members: This is a reminder to all Junior Concert Band members of our regular rehearsal today at lunch.

Good Morning to all OSS Indigenous Students. On February 28th, 2023 from 10am to 12pm an education and information session is being provided by Lakehead University, Georgian College and the Metis Nation of Ontario. This will take place in the Andaayang Room 222. This is a great opportunity to learn about Indigenous Post - Secondary programs and support initiatives for learning Pizza will be provided on this day.
