Congratulations to all Grade 9, 10, and 11 students who participated in the University of Waterloo math contests. Our medal winners for being the top scorers in our school were Jack W. in Grade 9, Talib D. in Geade 10, and Alex H. in Grade 11. And, congratulations again to Jack and Alex who received Certificates of Distinction for being in the top 25% of all contest writers in Canada. A special mention goes out to Ellery M. and Ridhima A. for their performances as well.

Last week, our music students traveled on a 4-day Arts tour of Niagara Falls and Toronto, which included performances at Musicfest Nationals on Wednesday. Our ensembles both presented excellent performances for the panels of adjudicators and participated in engaging and informative clinics. The OSS Music Department is proud to announce that the Senior Concert Band earned a Silver standing and Hawks Jazz earned a Gold standing. These results at the national level are indeed something to be very proud of. Congratulations to our hard-working and dedicated musicians! If you would like to hear these groups and many others perform live, please join us this Thursday evening at 7pm for the Music Department annual Spring Concert.
Congratulations to our Track Team who competed in GBSSA on Thursday last week in Toronto at York University. All athletes competed hard despite challenging weather conditions and represented OSS with great character! Shout out to Keira P., who broke a school record for her triple jump!
