The Jr. Girls basketball team traveled to Barrie North for their final regular season game, facing off against a formidable opponent. Despite the tough competition, our girls showed incredible determination and teamwork throughout the match.
They achieved their defensive goal by holding the opposing offense to under 20 points in the second half—a testament to their discipline and hustle. The team rallied with renewed energy, doubling their score and matching their rivals basket for basket late in the game.
Their resilience and spirit never wavered. We’re proud of their growth, effort, and sportsmanship this season. Way to go, team! 🏀💪
See you next week for playoff, come cheer on the Nighthawks!

The Senior Girls Hoopers continued their winning ways yesterday, by notching a 45-15 win over Barrie North. The defence was smothering, as the Hawks nearly shut out North for the entire second half. The Nighthawks were in full flight on offence as the transition game had passes flying around the gym as the squad soared to rim again and again. The win keeps OSS in first place at this point in the season, with a 6 and 0 regular season record. Next action is Monday vs Maple Ridge.
Gooooooooo Hawks!!!!!!!!
The Jr Boys Soccer team travelled to Banting on Monday for the first round of the playoffs looking to avenge their worst defeat of the season against Banting last week. The Nighthawks stunned Banting early on a goal from Lucas D. The Nighthawks were relentless out hustling Banting and were rewarded with some good scoring chances. Goaltender Toby F. and defensive wall Harman D. made numerous highlight reel saves to keep the Nighthawks up 1-0 until Banting was able to tie it at one midway through the second half. Suffering three injuries at key positions, the Nighthawks did not give up and the game remained tied at one at the end of regulation thanks in part to some strong communication and two-way play from Kypton R. and Reid W. The Nighthawks played smart and tough through overtime but unfortunately conceded the winning goal in the last minute of the second half of overtime. Coaches Jackson and Bard are very proud of your efforts and we hope that you are as well.

Imagine for a second you are a student during the holidays. You're excited, you get to have a great big dinner with your family, cake, the works. However, as it turns out, the price of food is too expensive. This is sadly a reality for many families in our town, and even for students in our school. However, you can help people in your community by donating non-perishable items to the Students for Change Fall Food Drive. Get your donations in to your homeroom classroom, in the box we provide. donations are due on Thursday the 24th!
For this belated mindshift monday, the OSS Mental Health team challenges you to set one small goal for the day. It could be to get outside, finish your homework or even just drink water. Often, little goals can build momentum and make us feel less stressed. We're wishing you an amazing week!
Attention all student council members! For the meeting today at lunch we only need students that will be helping set up or doing a job at the dance as well as the executive team. See you in room 300 at 11:00.
