The Senior Girls Basketball team competed in the Orillia Blackball Tournament this past weekend. They opened the tournament with a decisive 66 to 27 win over St. Marys of Sault Ste. Marie. The Nighthawks used superior transition to score on the run again and again. They also hit many three pointers to put the game out of reach and advance to their second-round game against Twin Lakes. The squad played stifling defense, holding their cross-town opponents to only 14 points, while cruising to a 33-point win. Those two victories earned the Hawks a place in the semifinal. Unfortunately, the team ran into a great opponent in St. Michaels from Cambridge. While they put up a valiant effort, their weekend came to an end in the semifinal game. The coaches are thrilled with the performance of the team.
Also, the coaches want to thank the fans for the great home support and a big thank you to all of the volunteer scorekeepers.
Next action is Wednesday. Goooooooo Hawks!!!!!!!!!
