SHSM Arts & Culture students are reminded that there is a form which needs to be completed and returned THIS WEEK — like return it tomorrow please.

All of the grade 10 Civics classes this year have participated in the YPI (Youth Philanthropy Initiative) program which involves researching a local social service charity and then creating a presentation teaching their class mates about the charity and the services they provide to the community. The 4 strongest presentations are then selected to compete in front of their peers and a panel of judges for the opportunity to receive a $5000 grant for their charity. Today, during the period after lunch, all grade 10 classes will attend the assembly to decide the winner. Classes can proceed directly to the cafeteria after taking attendance. This is a great opportunity for students to learn more about local charities and show how active citizenship can have a direct benefit to the community.
