Morning Announcements for October 30, 2024

This is a reminder to students regarding student i.d. cards. 

You will require to purchase your student i.d. in order to attend semi-formal.  Tickets will be on sale through school cash online.  If you have not yet purchased your student i.d you will not be able to pick up your ticket.

 Student I.D. cards are mandatory to attend the semi-formal.

Badminton. Badminton.

A reminder to all club players that Badminton club will NOT be running for the next two weeks. We will resume play on Thursday November 14th.

Attention to students interested in trying out for Senior Boys Basketball: There will be a meeting at lunch in Room 125 on FRIDAY this week.

Yesterday, the Jr boys football team season came to an end with a playoff loss to Maple Ridge. The coaches would like to thank the players for their hard work and commitment to trying to get better every game. Players are also reminded to return all equipment and jerseys.

Calling all downhill skiers. Have you raced before? Do you want to learn how? Then make sure to come out Friday at the start of lunch to room 341 to sign up for the Alpine Ski Team. If you can't make it, please talk to Mr. Petras. Remember, if you want to work way harder and do Nordic, make sure to see Mr. Shami

Yesterday, the junior girls flag football team hosted Innisdale in a quarterfinal playoff match. Lexa M. took the first play of the game 50 yards for a touchdown to set the tone as the Nighthawks took a 26-0 lead into halftime. On the first play of the second half, Lila P. took an interception 30 yards back for the pick six and we cruised to a 46-0 win. Cabot F, had 3 td catches on the day while quarterbacks Amber L. and Hollie T. each added rushing scores. Maya N.added a convert and some timely first down catches.  Great defence from everyone limiting Innisdale to less than five first downs on the day and interceptions from Addi K. and Ellie S.. Semi-finals on Thursday at Bear Creek.

This is a message to all girls interested in playing varsity hockey this year. WE will be meeting Thursday at the beginning of lunch.

Good Morning OSS! Do you drive a car? Have a cottage? Or just like to be prepared when an emergency occurs? This is your lucky day! You can now purchase a first aid kit on School Cash online and be prepare for all of these unfortunate situations.

Reminder today at lunch the University of Calgary will be in the front foyer for anyone that is interested.

Students, 

The Indigenous Post-Secondary Information Program will be visiting OSS on Thursday, October 31 in the Cafetorium from 1 - 2 pm.

This gives First Nations, status and non-status, Inuit, and Métis students the opportunity to connect with Indigenous college representatives, there will be representatives from 20 different colleges and universities from across Ontario.

 Please check in with your teachers before heading down.
