There is always something exciting happening in the OSS Drama Department! From Improv Team, to Sears Drama Festival, to mainstage musicals, our drama program has a rich extracurricular life.

In 2016, drama students have:

- Produced full length plays and performed for the public

- Created an impactful Remembrance Day assembly

- Submitted radio plays to the #SCDSBLive Radio Expo

- Skyped with professionals from the Canadian Theatre Industry

- Taken field trips to the Ed Mirvish Theatre, The Second City, Young People's Theatre, and the Orillia Opera House

- Learned about various aspects of drama and theatre in our brand new facility, which includes a full stage, theatre seating, dressing rooms, and access to current lighting and sound technology

- Developed tons of transferable skills that they can use in other areas of their lives, including collaboration, creative thinking, communication, empathy, problem solving, concentration, and more!

 Improv Team

Team TMI (Too Much Improv) held their first showcase in November, 2016. In the new year, they will be competing against other schools from across the province as a part of the Canadian Improv Games (www.improv.ca).

TOO MUCH IMPROV- UPDATES: 

The OSS Improv Team will be hosting a Spring Improv Showcase on Friday, March 24th. The show will begin at 7:00pm, and will take place in the theatre at OSS. Admission is $5.

Our team has been invited to participate in the Regional Tournament for the Canadian Improv Games! On April 1st at 2pm, we will be competing against schools from all across the Toronto region for a spot at the National Tournament in Ottawa! Want to come cheer us on? All proceeds from the spring showcase will go towards transportation and registration fees for the Regional Tournament... and possibly the National Tournament too!
